Matthew Antonio Zakrzewski, a male nanny who branded himself as a “manny” and catered to families across southern California, has been sentenced to over 700 years in prison for the sexual assault of 16 boys under his care.

Who is Matthew Antonio Zakrzewski?
The 34-year-old, convicted in October on over 30 felonies, including lewd and lascivious acts with minors, also faced charges for exposing a young boy to child sexual abuse material.
During the sentencing hearing on Friday, Zakrzewski, displaying no remorse, delivered a statement to the court. Despite the severity of his crimes, he expressed pride in supposedly bringing joy to the children he cared for. As he spoke, victims’ parents were visibly distressed, covering their ears and shedding tears.
Zakrzewski’s arrest in May 2019 followed a report from a couple to the Laguna Beach police, alleging inappropriate touching of their son. Subsequent investigations revealed additional victims, leading to the filing of 34 felony charges against Zakrzewski, whose victims ranged from two to 12 years old. A jury later found him guilty on all counts.
The district attorney, Todd Spitzer, characterized the case as a horrifying betrayal by a caregiver, emphasizing the unimaginable terror experienced by the young boys. Zakrzewski, a resident of Costa Mesa, had presented himself not just as a nanny but as a provider of a fun “buddy” experience for the children entrusted to his care.
