Then we're off to discover more Amazing Hotels with Monica Galetti and Rob Rinder from 8pm. They head to the snowy Alps to discover the little known Panorama Hotel Hubertus – a resort in the Tyrol region of Northern Italy that’s the vision of one family.

Lucy investigates the return of Sherlock and finds that the darkness of the later stories about the detective mirrored the reality of his creator's life in Killing Sherlock: Lucy Worsley on the Case of Conan Doyle from 9pm.

And there's A Ghost Story for Christmas - an Arthur Conan Doyle adaptation courtesy of Mark Gatiss - from 10pm with Lot No. 249. It’s 1881, and Old College, Oxford plays host to three very different academics. But could one of their experiments bring the breath of life to a horrifying bag of bones?
